SkillBridge Program Policies
The following policies ensure a fair, supportive, and professional training environment for all participants of The Oasis Firm SkillBridge Program. These guidelines set the foundation for success, safety, and respect throughout the duration of the program.
Attendance and Participation
Commitment: Participants are expected to attend all scheduled sessions, actively participate in learning activities, and complete both live and self-paced assignments.
Absences: If an absence is unavoidable, prompt notification to a mentor or program coordinator is required so alternative arrangements can be made.
Minimum Attendance: Continued enrollment requires regular attendance, with participation tracked for compliance and to ensure eligibility for certificates.
Code of Conduct
Professionalism: All interns must maintain respectful, professional behavior in interactions with clients, peers, and mentors.
Harassment and Misconduct: The program maintains zero tolerance for harassment, bullying, or unprofessional conduct. Violations will result in disciplinary action and may include removal from the program.
Dress Code: As a hybrid/remote program, participants should dress appropriately for video calls and client-facing engagements.
Confidentiality and Data Security
The Oasis Firm SkillBridge Program places the highest priority on confidentiality and data protection for all client and company information. Interns and trainees will handle sensitive financial records and personally identifiable information (PII) as part of training activities. Strict adherence to confidentiality is essential for client trust, firm reputation, and legal compliance.
All participants are required to:
Treat all client and internal data as strictly confidential, using information only for authorized firm and training purposes.
Access client records, tax documents, CRM systems, and financial data only within the context of official program assignments.
Security and confidentiality protocols at The Oasis Firm are directly informed by IRS Publication 1075, which establishes federal standards for protecting Federal Tax Information (FTI). This publication requires tax professionals and firms to implement robust physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse of taxpayer data. Violations of these standards can result in severe civil and criminal penalties—for both individuals and the firm—under federal law.
Participants are expected to:
Follow firm guidelines for secure data handling, storage, and destruction, fully compliant with IRS 1075 requirements.
Report any suspected data breaches, unauthorized disclosures, or security incidents immediately to the program coordinator.
Never share confidential materials (including screenshots, printed documents, or digital files) outside authorized boundaries.
Maintaining IRS 1075 compliance is not only a legal mandate, but a core value in safeguarding the integrity, privacy, and trust of our clients throughout every stage of The Oasis Firm SkillBridge Program.
Equal Opportunity and Accessibility
Non-Discrimination: The Oasis Firm prohibits all forms of discrimination. Please refer to the Non-Discrimination Policy for additional details.
Accommodations: Reasonable accommodations are provided as needed to support participation by individuals with disabilities or special requirements.
Grading, Evaluation, and Certificates
Assessment: Progress is evaluated through participation, assessments, assignments, and professionalism, with feedback provided throughout the program.
Certification: Successful completion of all modules, required hours, and evaluations results in the awarding of a Certificate of Completion.
Academic Honesty: Plagiarism or falsification of assignments is not permitted and may result in dismissal from the program.
